Winter Solstice

The winter of dreams
The snow of emotional streams;
The frozen memories
The longest screams;
Yearn to be redeemed.

Standing in knee deep white
Looking out for some light;
The sun doesn’t give a sight
The wind blows with its might;
Need strength to give a fight.

The growing disconnect
Numb body unfazed by effect;
Mind seems to forget
Heart doesn’t want to regret;
Guess it no more affect.

Surrounded by a hot pool
Many thoughts many rules;
All want some cool
Giving knowledge and tools;
But I am being too cruel.

Giving a fake smile
A façade for a thousand miles;
Hidden deep within the style
Underneath layers of stock pile;
Exist self-made exile.

Knowing about the coming storm
Old methods become deform;
Doing my best to brainstorm
Finding ways to transform;
All I want is to feel warm.

Know not when this will end
How long do I bend;
There is no one to depend
Very little there to spend;
So I will try to ascend.
